Hi! We're the Tall Timbers Homeowners Association
Our homeowners association was established in the 1980s to serve the original 191 homes in our neighborhood. We have hundreds of HOA neighbors living around us - each contributing to the vibrant spirit of our community - some who have lived here since the very beginning!
These are the people we greet with a smile while walking our dogs, or exchange friendly waves with as we mow our lawns. It's not just the gardens and yards that are flourishing here - our sense of community continues to grow and evolve in so many meaningful ways. We all take pride in calling this special corner of Glen Allen "home," where neighbors aren't just faces but friends, and where the bonds of shared experiences make our neighborhood feel truly unique.
Where We Live
Who We Are & What We Do
We are neighbors.
Good neighbors are the heart of our thriving community, fostering safety, support, and lasting friendships. We watch out for each other, providing peace of mind through shared vigilance, while also offering a helping hand, whether it’s borrowing a tool or assisting with tasks. These connections not only enrich our lives emotionally but also create a sense of belonging that boosts our well-being. By coming together in times of need and maintaining our properties, we enhance the overall appeal of our neighborhood, creating a beautiful, inviting space for all. Ultimately, the bonds forged in our neighborly kindness transform houses into homes and communities into families, reminding us that we are stronger together.
We're a volunteer run association.
The members of our Tall Timbers Homeowner Association Board are dedicated neighbors who selflessly volunteer their time and energy to help our community thrive. Each month, they tackle a variety of important tasks, from planning events and responding to fallen-tree emergencies, to updating our website and filing tax paperwork, to balancing our bank accounts and collecting dues. Their hard work ensures our neighborhood remains vibrant and connected. We are incredibly grateful for the generous spirit of those who have contributed over the years, and we encourage everyone to show appreciation for our current leaders who continue this important work. Together, we’re building a wonderful community!
We own the shared land in this community.
While we may not have a swimming pool or clubhouse, our community boasts beautiful HOA-owned spaces that we lovingly landscape and maintain together. This includes caring for our lawns and removing dead trees to keep our surroundings vibrant. As homeowners, we collectively own these common areas, which serve as the perfect backdrop for our community events and collaborative art projects. When our HOA was first formed, landscaping costs were just a small part of our annual dues, but today, our commitment to keeping these spaces beautiful is a priority that shapes much of our budget. Together, we create a welcoming and enjoyable environment for everyone!
We do not own the roads.
While it’s a relief that Henrico County takes care of maintaining our roads at no extra cost to us, it's a bit disappointing that we don’t have the ability to make changes ourselves. This can make it challenging to get things like speed bumps, bike lanes, storm drains, or stop signs added to our streets.
We bring neighbors together in fun and meaningful ways.
We love gathering neighbors together through fun and meaningful activities! From food truck nights and neighborhood yard sales to Easter egg hunts, holiday light contests, summer parties, and community cleanups, our events are all about building connections. Our goal is to create a friendly, familiar atmosphere where everyone knows and supports each other. In this digital age, we’re excited to foster the kind of neighborly bonds that make it easy to ‘run over and borrow a cup of milk,’ just like in the good old days!
We’re a cohesive community.
We’re proud to be a close-knit and welcoming community! As you drive through our neighborhood, you’ll notice how beautifully maintained everything is - our streets are clean and clutter-free, lawns are well cared for, and the absence of RVs and front yard fences creates an open, inviting atmosphere. Check out our collaborative art project! Living in an HOA home means being part of this shared commitment to keeping Tall Timbers beautiful. With everyone contributing through the annual dues and following our bylaws, we’re able to create a harmonious and lovely environment for all to enjoy!
We’re not political and don’t intend to be.
While we would love to have a broader impact, our role at Tall Timbers doesn’t extend to advocating in matters such as real estate developments, City Council decisions, or other local, state, or federal issues. However, we do what we can do: addressing the speeding concerns on our county roads. With enough participation from our homeowners in surveys, we can make a real difference in creating a safer environment for everyone. Together, we can make our community a better place!
